What We Shipped This Week at Little Legends: Reliability at Scale
By Mark Twain ยท 24 October 2026

When thousands of families set out to make a story at once, the machinery underneath has a way of creaking. This week we spent on the pilings โ not the paint โ so every book still reaches a parent's hands when the river runs high.
On keeping watch. We taught the shop to notice a book that stalls in generation before a parent has to ask after it. Every story is watched from the first spark to the last page, and anything peculiar raises a flag in minutes, not hours. A parent ought not wonder whether their order is still alive โ and now they need not.
On checkout under pressure. The till got a hardening this week. We closed the odd corners around PDF timing, stopped a purchase when the price on the counter did not match the price you were shown, and tightened how a reused character is checked before money changes hands. The aim is plain: checkout should finish cleanly every time, whether the shop is quiet or crowded.
On trails that stay trails. If you arrived by way of an advertisement or a promotional page, we now keep that thread all the way to the purchase. Attribution had been leaking โ at the entry-screen upload, on builder links from campaign pages, and when a session wandered off and came back. Those gaps are closed. We can finally see which channels bring orders, not merely clicks.
On the small courtesies. A deleted book no longer loiters in the character picker. The thank-you page got a fresh coat. Photo uploads from the entry screen are logged as they ought to be. Our own QA steps are clearer. And we swept thirty-six route handlers that had been catching the same error twice โ less clutter in the workshop, the same reliability at the door.
Up next. We are trying an experimental story-creation path meant to make ordering quicker for families who have been here before. More on that once it has proved itself in the wild โ one does not advertise the bridge until one has walked across it.
